Other uses for CUcontent.com

There are many ways to use the content at CUcontent.com, and other than repackaging and/or selling the content, you can do almost anything, UNDER YOUR OWN NAME, with the content here.

  • E-mail marketing. Take advantage of this low-cost marketing media by emailing members a financial tip of the week…and news of what's happening at the credit union. Don't make it too promotional though, because you want members to look forward to reading it.

  • Mailers. Include informative, educational content as part of your mailers promoting any product or service. Search the site for product-related articles to find content suited to your promotion.

  • Drive-thru information sheets. A fun feature adds interest to the member's experience.

  • Brochures. Rather than being only promotional, answer the 'what's in it for me' question by giving members small pieces of information that are helpful to them as well as interesting.

  • Lobby posters. Points to ponder and the cartoons are great for this, but an article on 'does the FDIC insure credit unions' posted in large print in the lobby gives members something to read while waiting in the branch lobby and helps them understand the credit union difference, how to better handle their finances, or whatever message you're looking to convey.

  • Electronic message boards. Rotating or scrolling content can include short features or teaser text that direct members to your credit union's website for more.

  • Interactive newsletter/website features. A question can be included in the newsletter (or in the branch lobby) and the answer posted online. Great way to generate member interest in your website!

  • Blogs. Some of the articles can be used as blog posts, or they can give you ideas for blog posts of your own.

  • Start a dialog. Take one of the 'ask the financial guru' questions and ask members to provide their own answers. Take an article that might be controversial and open the conversation to members on a message board at your site.

  • Use select articles (or cartoons) as part of any classes or seminars given at the credit union.

  • By-line the articles yourself in a weekly or monthly local or trade publication. Newspapers are often looking for solid information, and with personal finance such a big issue today, the timing couldn't be better. Pick a regular feature, or simply pick and choose different features, and send it to the media under your own and your credit union's name. PLEASE CALL BEFORE YOU DO THIS! THERE ARE TERRITORY RESTRICTIONS, AND YOU DON'T WANT TO SEND THE SAME ARTICLE TO AN EDITOR AT A PAPER WHO JUST GOT THE ARTICLE FROM SOMEONE ELSE. CUCONTENT WILL EVALUATE ALL REQUESTS AND COORDINATE USE OF CONTENT BY GEOGRAPHIC AREA.
